HUMAN RIGHTS ENCOUNTERS

The Human Rights Encounters were created in September 2008 and are the product of a collaboration between the Montreal Human Rights Film Festival (MHRFF) and the National Film Board of Canada(NFB).

The Encounters were meant to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Though planned initially in late 2008, the program was implemented in 2009. It is now a full program complementing the Festival, which promote films as a vital tool to defend and promote human rights.

With the objective to present films to larger and more diverse audiences, the MHRFF proposes 6 Human Rights Encounters this fall in Montreal and Sherbrooke.
