Ce film relate l’histoire du champion mondial de boxe, Kassim Ouma. Né en Ouganda, il fut enlevé par l’armée rebelle à l’âge de six ans et entraîné comme enfant-soldat. Après 10 ans de guerre, Kassim s’enfuit et commence une nouvelle vie en Amérique, où il progresse rapidement dans le monde de la boxe. Pendant son entraînement en vue de défendre son prochain titre, il a de plus en plus de difficulté à garder ses démons hors du ring. La possibilité de retrouver sa famille en Ouganda est cependant liée au pardon que pourraient lui accorder les autorités militaires, celles-là mêmes qui furent responsables de son enlèvement.

This is the story of World Champion Boxer, Kassim Ouma, born in Uganda, kidnapped by the rebel army and trained to be a child soldier at age 6. After a decade of warfare, Kassim defected and began a new life in America, quickly rising through the boxing ranks. As he trains for his next world title fight, keeping his demons out of the ring becomes increasingly difficult. A chance to reunite with his family in Uganda hinges on a military pardon from the same leaders responsible for his abduction.
