Ce film, c’est l’extraordinaire histoire de trois immigrantes latino-américaines, couturières dans des ateliers clandestins à Los Angeles, qui s’embarquent dans une odyssée de trois ans pour obtenir du propriétaire d’une chaîne de boutiques de vêtements à la mode, des protections sociales de base. Dans un style direct et intimiste, il nous révèle l’impact de cette lutte dans la vie de ces trois femmes. The film follows the remarkable story of three Latina immigrants working in Los Angeles sweatshops as they embark on a three-year odyssey to win basic labour protections from a mega-trendy clothing retailer. In intimate vérité style, the film reveals the impact of the struggle on each woman’s life. Compelling, humorous, deeply human, it is a story about immigration, the power of unity, and the courage it takes to find your voice.

ALMUDENA CARRACEDO

Est née à Madrid. Son film précédent, Welcome, A Docu-Journey of Impressions a reçu le prix Sterling pour le meilleur court métrage documentaire, au Silverdocs Documentary Festival. En 2008, elle a reçu le prix Estela de la National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP).

Born in Madrid, Almudena Carracedo has previous directed a documentary on Tijuana as a border town Welcome, A Docu-Journey of Impressions, which received the Sterling Award for Best Short Documentary at Silverdocs Documentary Festival. Almudena is the 2008 recipient of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) Estela Award.
