Deux policiers autrichiens sont chargés de conduire Isaac, un immigré africain sans papiers, au Ghana. Dans l'avion, un incident révèle la cruauté et le racisme de l'un des deux policiers. Arrivés à Accra, ils font preuve d'une telle attitude d'arrogance et de supériorité vis-à-vis de leurs collègues africains, que ceux-ci décident de les retenir dans l'attente d'un visa. Sans passeport et avec peu d'argent, les deux policiers se retrouvent alors perdus dans la capitale africaine, contraints de veiller sur Isaac et de faire face à une culture locale qui leur est tout à fait étrangère.
Isaac, an African student, gets infiltrated with a group of other illegal immigrants through the Austrian border. Two policemen find this out, runs after them and eventually manage to catch Isaac. They are ordered to send them back to Accra , in Ghana . As Isaac tries everything not to be brought back to Africa , a very rude incident happens in the plane and reveals the violent racism of one of the policemen. Once in Accra , the local authorities will seek revenge against the two agents by making them wait for a visa and a check of their immigration papers. Stucked in the African capital for few days with no papers and very little money, the two agents have to deal with the local culture .
Andreas Gruber :
Andreas Gruber a tourné dans les années 80 plus d'une trentaine de documentaires sur des thématiques principalement sociales, politiques et historiques. En 1994, à la sortie du film L'Espace de la Grâce , qui évoque l'évasion de prisonniers de guerre soviétiques du camp de concentration de Mauthausen au début 1945, le député FPÖ Helmuth Jossek traite Andreas Gruber de « parasite du peuple ». Ce dernier attaque alors le député pour propos relevant de terminologies employées par les nazis. La même année, le film reçoit le Prix Spécial du Jury au Festival du Film de San Sébastien. Le cinéaste est également président d'une association anti-raciste en Autriche.
During the 1980s, Andreas Gruber directed more than 30 documentaries on social, political and historical subjects. In 1994, he made Hasenjag d (The Quality of Mercy), which deals with the mass breakout of Soviet prisoners of war from the Mauthausen concentration camp in early 1945. On its release, FPÖ district councillor Helmuth Jossek vilified him as a Volksschädling or “pest of the people.” Gruber filed suit against him on the grounds that the insult was part of Nazi terminology. That same year, the film was awarded a Special Jury Prize at the San Sebastian Film Festival. Gruber is president of an anti-racism association in Austria .
