Que se passe-t-il si un Israélien tombe amoureux d'une Palestinienne ou une Israélienne d'un Palestinien ? S'ils sont tous les deux arabes, comme dans le cas des deux couples du documentaire, ils peuvent se marier, mais une loi approuvée en 2003 les empêche de vivre en Israël. Même chose en Palestine. Ils n'ont donc pas de territoire qui les reconnaisse et qui les accueille. Kifah et son mari décident de partir en exil en Allemagne, tandis que Rabia et Suhad habitent à Jérusalem, mais Rabia vit dans un état de clandestinité insoutenable.
Autumn 2003, a wedding hall in the north of Israel . Two hundred guests dance along with a bride in a white dress. 36-year-old Kifah Massarwi, an Israeli citizen, organized a wedding for herself, minus the groom. This is the opening shot in a bitter battle that she is waging against the Israeli authorities who forbid her spouse from entering the country. The Citizenship Law, effective since 2003, states that residents of the Palestinian Authority may not enter Israel , even if married to Israeli citizens. According to Paragraph 5, the law will remain in effect for one year, but may be extended "in accordance with state security requirements". Just Married is the story of two Palestinian couples who decided to marry knowing that it would be impossible for them to live together in Israel .

Ayelet Bechar:
Née en 1972 en Israël, Ayelet Bechar a fait des études en cinéma à l'université de Tel Aviv avant de partir pour New York où elle a obtenu un master en journalisme à la Columbia University. Elle vit maintenant avec sa famille à Tel Aviv. Journaliste pigiste, elle écrit pour Ha' aretz et pour le Jerusalem Post. Elle est aussi productrice d'une télévision locale. Just Married est son premier film.
Ayelet Bechar is a filmmaker and journalist. She is a graduate of the Tel Aviv University department of Film and Television, and of Columbia University 's Graduate School of Journalism in New York . Ayelet lives in Tel Aviv , Israel with her family. Just Married is her first film. In 2006 she produced and directed the short film Power .
