L’implantation d’un modèle économique hostile et la montée d’une classe sociale dominante détachée des intérêts nationaux ont forcé de nombreuses entreprises argentines à déclarer faillite. Portrait d’un combat pour la dignité dans un pays dont la moitié de la population vit sous le seuil de la pauvreté. Un film émouvant qui documente les conflits, les exploits et le sens réel de l’histoire des ouvriers.

As a consequence of a hostile economic model implemented in Argentina together with an upper class detached from national interests, many factories went bankrupt. “Open due to bankruptcy” shows the struggle of those who resist losing the dignity of work in a country where half of their inhabitants live under the poverty line. It also shows the conflicts, achievements and the meaning of the factories’ history that have been recovered by their workers.

Carlos Castro est né à General Villegias en 1975. Il est diplômé en communication sociale et enseigne à l’Université de La Plata, en Argentine. Il s’agit de son premier documentaire.
Carlos Castro was born in Gral. Villegas in 1975. He graduated on Social Communication and teaches in La Plata’s University, in Argentina. Opened due to bankruptcy is his first documentary film.
