What do the following people have in common: the richest man on earth, a Mexican Indian activist, an employee in a French water multinational and a Canadian sociologist? They all take an active part in the present debate around water management in the world. Through strong moments filmed in the 4th World Forum on Water held in March 2006 in Mexico, Discours d’eau shows the fight of the Mazahuas, indigenous peasants who have been enduring for more than 25 years, a centralist and catastrophic mismanagement of the water resources of their country.
Frédéric Julien • Saël Gueydan-Lacroix
They both have a degree in political science from the Université du Québec à Montréal, and have trained in Documentary Direction. Frédéric Julien made several long stays in Mexico and Central America. This brought him to co-operate with the monthly Alternatives as correspondent. Saël Gueydan-Lacroix worked as a journalist for l’Aut’journal and as columnist for the radio program Radio-Alternatives. He has clear interest for Latin America and its political stakes. In 2006, both filmmakers created an independent production company, Les Productions l’Envers specialising in socially and politically dedicated documentary films.
