Quebec Premiere Behind closed doors in Teheran young Iranian artists express themselves through music, painting and sports– thereby risking public floggings and even a death sentence. If discovered, the lucky ones affluent enough have the one option of buying their way back to freedom. Forbidden Future shows you an Iran and Iranians drastically different from the picture of uniform drabness created by western media. The film features the death metal band Scourge and their lead–singer Ali, the freestyle skier Sanam and the controversial artist Shahram who is threatened with the death sentence during the shooting of the film.
