World Premiere

Each year, around 300 000 persons from Central America flee misery to cross Mexico to reach illegally the United States or sometimes even Canada. For them, the train is the most popular means of transportation to cross the Mexican territory. But this long road is filled with dangers. Nearly one thousand of them fall off the train every year. For the train handicapped, it is difficult to accept the failure of their American dream. For the others, simply getting to the US doors is a victory per se. But their odyssey is far from being over…

Lisa-Marie Gervais
Graduated in journalism and political science, Lisa-Marie Gervais is a journalist (La Gazette des femmes, Le Devoir). She travelled to Europe, Latin America and Africa to write articles for various Quebec magazines.

Pedro Ruiz
Born in 1970 in Venezuela, Pedro Ruiz is a photographer and filmmaker. Since 1991 he collaborated to many documentary productions in several locations in Latin America. He contributes to Le Devoir as a photo-journalist since 2004 and presently lives in Montreal.
