Each year, thousands of Africans risk their lives fleeing their country in search of a better future. In Mali, as in most countries in the area, the situation is catastrophic. Among those who leave are the poorest but also those who could contribute to the their country’s development. But jobs are scarce and the future seems hopeless. Le prix de l’exode includes direct testimonies from young people who dream to leave the country, those who, after a failed departure wish to try again and from activists who struggle to help them.
