For an exile the Internet is more than a mere resource, it is a lifeline to his or her homeland. For Maung Maung Aye, an ex-Burma Student Army freedom fighter now living in Australia, it means even more - it is a portal into an intriguing world of romance and activism. Virtual Freedom is an elegant and intimate ‘documation’ that tells the story of a unique and touching online relationship that not only transcends the latest methods of communication, but also the shackles of a cruel political regime.
